PhD Thesis Nailing (Spikning)
I am nailing my thesis in C-huset, LiU, with my Supervisor
Nailing (Spikning) is a unique tradition in Sweden for PhD Students. Usually three weeks before the public defense, PhD students nail their thesis in a tree or similar thing to announce their upcoming defense, so people can read the thesis beforehand and participate in the discussion during the defense.
So, on 12 and 15 December, 2025, I had my nailing. I am proud to say that I will have my defense on January 16, 2026. I thank everyone who was there at the nailing ceremony. Special thanks to my supervisor Fredrik Heintz, co-supervisor Daniel de Leng, PhD coordinator Anne Moe, and my group members at Reasoning and Learning Lab (ReaL).
